Two-and-a-half-hour film, Ludo
What is a sin for one person may be a virtue for another, but if it is only a matter of view, then who will get heaven, who will get hell… Its decision will be very difficult. Especially after death in the office headed by Yamraj and the head clerk Chitragupta. On this spiritual philosophy, Anurag Basu has made a two-and-a-half-hour film, Ludo, which is not at all spiritual in terms of treatment and style. The film features the symbols of Anurag Basu himself Yamraj and Rahul Bagga Chitragupta and his favorite game is Ludo.
Just as there are red, green, blue and yellow pieces in the game of Ludo, the events that take place in the lives of the four main characters in the Ludo film represent these four colors, whose every move determines the dice of luck . These four characters are completely different from each other, but playing the game of life, luck brings them to the same 'house' (floor) again and again. Like the game of Ludo, there are such stops where they cut each other's pieces.
Ludo begins with Don Sattu Bhaiya
Ludo begins with Don Sattu Bhaiya i.e. Rahul Satyendra Tripathi (Pankaj Tripathi), who kills builder Bhinder. While returning from the murder, the witness of this murder takes Rahul Awasthi (Rohit Saraf) in his van. Rahul is an employee in a mall and is struck by the terror of his boss. Things become such that he inadvertently becomes a witness to Bhinder's blood.
Sattu's van moves forward and along the way Bhanu (Bhanu Uday Goswami), the husband of Asha (Asha Negi), is picked up, owing to Sattu's 90 lakh rupees. Asha is the former wife of Bittu (Abhishek Bachchan). Bittu has a criminal background and has just returned after serving six years in jail. They also have a daughter (Ruhi). After she goes to jail, Asha gets married to Bhanu.
Asha sends Ruhi to the hostel to read. Asha's husband borrowed money from Sattu for the same. Asha begs Bittu to free her husband from Sattu. Ultimately Bittu agrees and goes to his base to talk to Sattu. Bittu and Sattu also have a story.
Alok Kumar Gupta i.e. Aloo (Rajkumar Rao) is involved in petty crimes, but is a serious lover. The all-round variety Aloo has long hair like Mithun Da, follows his dance steps and talks the same way when needed, as Pinki (Fatima Sana Sheikh) has a favorite actor Mithun Chakraborty. Aloo loves Pinky since childhood and can go to any extent for her. However, Pinky gets married to Manohar Jain (Paritosh Tripathi).
Manohar has an affair with another woman.
Some such incident happens that Manohar is caught on charges of murder of Bhinder. Pinky asks for help from Potato to save her husband, who cannot speak to Pinky under any circumstances.
This secret opens further
Shruti Choksi (Sanya Malhotra) dreams of marrying a rich man and settling down, so that life can be relaxed. While searching for a boy through the wedding app, he meets Dr. Akash Chauhan (Aditya Roy Kapur). After some meetings, the two have a physical relationship, the video of which has been uploaded on the Internet. how? This secret opens further.
Only Shruti's face is visible in the video, so Akash tries to convince her to lodge a complaint with the police, but Shruti is married five days later. She is not ready. After all, Akash goes to his base with his elder brother, who is a lawyer, to seek help from Sattu, so that the problem can be resolved by staying outside the purview of the law.
The three characters Bittu, Akash and Rahul arrive at Sattu's base and an accident ensues in which many people are killed and Sattu is seriously injured. After this, how do all these characters follow their tricks on the ludo of life in order to solve their problems and in the same way, they get into each other's way and inadvertently sabotage each other's planning.
Ludo is Anurag Basu's directorial direction.
Many characters and the events that happen to them have been the feature of Pirona Anurag successfully in the screenplay. This is also the strongest side of his screenplay. There is also the risk of deviation in this. It is difficult to keep the story running on one track after including so many characters. However, the responsibility of the viewer increases slightly. He has to concentrate and keep an eye on the screen. The viewer must have felt this weight in Anurag's 'Barfi' as well.
The screenplay of Anurag and Samrat Chakraborty makes a great use of linking the sequence of events in the present and past. As incidents occur with the characters, flashbacks continue to come in need. Many characters are present in a single scene, but the sequence in which the need is highlighted is left behind. When the same scene is repeated further, the role of the characters in the background becomes prominent.
Dialogues and scenes in Ludo
In the characterization and dialogue writing of the actors, the thick layer of humer can be felt throughout the narrative. The girls 'thinking about marriage, the feeling of unilateral love and pain, with comments on the current political situation, come from working parents' lonely children, through dialogues and scenes in Ludo. 'Ask questions, Jalebi, want answers Kalakand' and 'Na Sita is safe, nor supernatkha' Tinkle the lines in a light-hearted way, but also leave an impact.
The writing of the Ludo movie has been well supported by the actors.
In particular, Rajkummar Rao has shown his different colors in the role of potato. Pankaj Tripathi has played the character of Sattu Bhaiya with great ease. It also holds Don Ghazb's sense of humor. Some of his best lines have also come. At the same time, child artist Inayat Verma has done a wonderful jugalbandi with Abhishek Bachchan. Abhishek has played almost the same character Lallan Singh in Yuva, which came many years ago. However, Bittu is less angry with Lallan and is big hearted.
Have done full justice to their characters
Fatima Sana Sheikh, Sanya Malhotra, Aditya Roy Kapur, Rohit Saraf and Perli Mani have done full justice to their characters. Despite the crowd of characters, they do not get lost in each other. The credit for these actors will be credited that after the completion of the film, all is remembered. Parli is the first Hindi film to have a touch with the Malayalam industry and her origins fully support the character of Malayali nurse Sreeja Thomas.
The transformation of Perley's
The transformation of Perley's character is one of the highlights of Ludo. Parli is paired with Rohit Sarraf's character Rahul. The special thing is that no character of Ludo is perfect with character qualities, all have some evils. Actually, these same evils are the life of Ludo's dark comedy hindi movie.
Ludo is an entertaining film
In Ludo, Anurag has made good use of the song 'Kismat ki Hawa Kabhi Garam Kabhi Soft' from Bhagwan Dada's 'Albela'. Actually, this song also justifies many events of the film. Pritam's music accompanies Ludo's thrill and comedy. Ludo is an entertaining film. Just while watching, take care not to get distracted, as you will miss any trick of Ludo and the bet will go out of hand as soon as meditation is removed. Netflix has released Ludo in the 16 plus category, but the language and some scenes are bold in that sense.
