WAR hindi film – Hrithik Roshan on guard of India
For a European, it is not a serious matter to review commercial Indian cinema. Anyway.
It’s already in its third decade of the twenty-first century, but Bollywood doesn’t even think about surrendering its positions! Naive, colorful and with songs and dances!
If you disable the Indian space military satellite, the enemies will be able to invisibly attack India! Are you scared? As Carlson, who lives on the rooftop, says in Stockholm – “Calm! Only calm!” India is safe as long as a certain Kabir looks after it.
The strategy is quite proven and justified: that’s why I looked at the next ‘movie masterpiece’ featuring Indian film stars Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff ‘WAR’.
And, of course, I got the expected good mood. Plus, he admired the inexhaustible Indian (alas, in the sense – primitive) fantasy of the filmmakers, clearly fueled by the ballet of fights and bullets of cinema from Hong Kong and the impossible missions of Ethan Hunt from Hollywood.
Difficult to kill heroes, easily demolishing capital buildings with their bodies, a caricatured villain (here is a minor one), as if he came from Indian mythological epics, pompous dialogues and monologues, mainly on the theme of love for the Motherland, geographic and medical realities that do not yet exist … you never know what nonsense stuffed into two and a half hours of screen time!
True, to the detriment of songs and dances: there are only two numbers here, and – relations with women: they are here from the edge of the plot. At the same time, one of them is just the Soviet Pavlik Morozov, and another, a six-year-old girl in the final, apparently counting on the naivety of Indian film gourmets, is portrayed by an adult athlete.
But, one cannot ignore the educational message of this hindi film: women are people too, and a guy can be in love with a guy.
The latter, by the way, in my opinion, almost like a red canvas runs through the entire plot, which contradicts its logic (danger of a spoiler).
It should be noted. that the Indians both like and can afford to shoot their imperishable goods outside their country. This time they decided to do without the already bored States and Foggy Albion and frolicked with the Mediterranean, especially in Portugal.
Well, and Hrithik Roshan … I don’t know. as it is with the Stanislavsky system, but I have a strong feeling that, unlike European and American actors, the inhabitants of Bollywood, and all of them, are trained in the ballet ‘Todes’ by Alla Dukhova. And Hrithik Roshan is no exception here. Plus, he really is Simpa. Anyway. the movie camera loves him …
And further. I got the impression that Indian movie ‘WAR’ is a belated answer to Pakistani ‘WAAR’. In the Pakistani film, the enemies, of course, encroached on Pakistan. Given the real complicated relationship between India and Pakistan, these very enemies in both films are easy to guess.
In this film competition, I unconditionally give the victory to Pakistani ‘Impact’ (‘Attack’). It was made according to other, more serious patterns. In addition, it has a gorgeous (of course, for my taste) musical number Mauje Naina Milke.
Well, who wants to see something smart and breakthrough in Indian cinema, I would recommend the latest hindi movies with the participation of another Indian superstar, Aamir Khan. There, Indian naivety is already overshadowed by the quality of the narrative and theme. And, if you take, for example, the picture ‘PiKay’, then I was generally amazed how such a film did not cause riots in my extremely religious homeland ?!
My rating as Indian cinema is 8 out of 10, and as an Indian cinema through the eyes of a foreigner – 2 out of 10
